As in many other places, the lighting of a showroom is very important when you’ve got things on display to bring out the very best of. Lighting these product up incorrectly could have a huge effect on the sales of the items as they’re not being displayed at their full potential.
Track lighting has been the flexible solution in showrooms as they leave you the opportunity to mainly focus the light on the products and pinpoint certain items that you want to bring focus to. The track lights you’d use here, would be a 30 or 40W due to their high light output giving the displays clear and professional illumination. Showrooms perfect for these lights could be for things like tiles, cars or paint.

Showroom track lighting system
The most common mounting method for showrooms is the surface track system which is also the easiest one to install. For ceilings heights ranging from 2.7-3 meters, suspension mounting is usually not needed, whereas for higher set ceilings, a suspension kit might be well needed as the lights would need to come down to a more suitable level. These kits all click together and can be suspended all the way from 6 meters down to 3 meters if required.
The two track types are 4 wire (3 circuit) and single circuit. The 4 wire has a chunkier look to it and is almost three times the price that of a single circuit. What’s good about it is the fact that it allows you to group dim it from a wall dimmer. The single circuit however, has got a lighter design and is much cheaper and easier to install. This type of track allows dimming to all tracks on the circuit at the same time.
These lights can be put in different configurations allowing straight lines, squares and U-shapes to be formed. This way you can adjust the light fittings after the type of room and preference.
Showroom Trackhead Lights and Design Ideas
15W: This light is 157mm long and 65mm round and is most commonly installed for residential use in places like lounge rooms and kitchens, but can also be used commercially in e.g. showrooms with low set ceilings where a stronger light output would get too close and end up looking very bright. The standard rule is that if a ceiling is under 2.7 meters of if suspended to that height a 15W is the best alternative to use. This light comes in matte black or matte white and has got a lumen of 1300.
30W: The 30W is usually installed in showrooms with a ceiling above 3 meters in height where a stronger light output is needed in order to properly brighten the displays. The colours are the same as the 15W and the size 157mm long and 84mm round. Lumen is 2200.
