Our 15W gallery wall wash track lights cater to the specific needs of art galleries, with a high CRI level. CRI, or Colour Rendering Index, refers to how a light source affects the way is colour is seen by the human eye, and how colour variations and shade are interpreted. The index is measured on a scale of 1 to 100. In an art gallery, where it’s vital that colours appear at their truest and most vibrant, it’s important to use lights at the top end of this scale. Our gallery wall wash lights have a CRI level of 90.
They should be mounted 1m – 1.5m from the wall to give an even wash of light. As with any track light solution, the rule of thumb is to use one light per linear metre of track.
As their purpose is to provide a general wash of light, they are supplied with a wide beam angle, but the reflector can be changed for a narrow beam angle on request. A narrow beam angle will provide a more targeted light and can highlight specific artworks.
Crucially for creating the required mood and atmosphere, these lights are dimmable on a single circuit track.
